Since iOS 11 the iPhone saves photos in HEIC, an efficient format that many Windows programs, websites and older devices cannot open. Private Photo Converter turns HEIC into JPG, which opens everywhere, directly in your browser: nothing is uploaded.

HEIC keeps the same quality as JPG at about half the size, so the iPhone fits more photos in the same space. The price is compatibility: not every program can open it.
